Meiyi receives prestigious NSF CAREER Award!

Congrats to Meiyi Ma, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, on receiving the prestigious NSF CAREER Award! 🎉

With a $600K grant, Dr. Ma is advancing the explainability and trustworthiness of Societal-Scale Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)—the critical tech behind smart cities, healthcare, emergency response, and more.

Her work will: 

🔍 Help CPS justify their decisions in real-time
🤝 Integrate operator insights for dynamic adaptation
🎓 Bring explainability into the classroom with innovative teaching and a new course: CPS in the Field

This award follows her Google Academic Research Award and current NSF-funded collaboration with Nashville’s 911 services on the first GenAI training system for emergency call takers.
