ICAA 2024 hosted by VU-ISIS

The 3rd Conference on Assured Autonomy (ICAA'24) was held October 10-11, 2024, at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. The conference focused on assurance for AI and autonomy, covering key topics such as safety, security, and privacy in autonomous systems. In attendance were key leaders from the Institute for Software Integrated Systems Xenofon Koutsoukos, Gabor Karsai, Forrest Laine, Meiyi Ma, James Weimer, Abhishek Dubey, Taylor T Johnson.

Assured autonomy—the ability to ensure that AI and autonomous systems operate safely, securely, and reliably—plays a crucial role in modern technology. As autonomous systems become more integrated into industries such as transportation, healthcare, defense, and robotics, ensuring their safety, security, and privacy is essential to avoid failures, breaches, or unintended consequences.

The ICAA'24 conference allows professionals from diverse backgrounds to discuss and share advancements in these areas, fostering collaboration and innovation that will help shape the future of autonomous systems. By addressing challenges such as safety assurance, cybersecurity risks, and the ethical implications of AI, the event contributes to building trust and accountability in autonomy, which is vital for widespread adoption and public acceptance.
