Global Good Hackathon held March 28-29, 2026

Innovation met impact at the second annual Global Good Hackathon at Vanderbilt’s College of Connected Computing (CCC), held March 28–29.

Sponsored by Vanderbilt CS alumnus Antonio Akins, this year’s event brought together 21 teams dedicated to building technology for social good. Projects tackled meaningful challenges—from improving water treatment solutions for rural communities to creating apps that strengthen support networks within the Vanderbilt community.

A huge thank you to the Institute's professors David Hyde and Meiyi Ma for organizing, and to the incredible student leaders from the Vanderbilt chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers and Women in Computing for making this event possible.

Looking forward to seeing how this momentum continues at the third Global Good Hackathon in Spring 2027!
