A Multi-agent, Comprehensive, and Generalizable System for 9-1-1 Dispatching Training

Every year, emergency communication centers handle millions of 911 calls, making dispatcher training critical to ensuring fast and effective responses. This project builds on a successful earlier effort to expand an AI-powered training system designed to better prepare dispatchers for real-world emergencies.

The system uses generative AI to simulate realistic scenarios, helping trainees practice decision-making, communication, and response strategies in a safe, controlled environment. By improving training efficiency and effectiveness, the platform reduces the time and resources required while enhancing the quality of emergency response. With proven success in Nashville, this work has the potential to scale nationwide—supporting thousands of emergency centers and improving access to high-quality training, especially in underserved communities.
